Location of Heat Tolerance Genes on Chromosomes and Analysis of Gene Effect of Heat Tolerance in Wheat

Abstract: With the MT test and method of heat tolerance under field conditions,chromosome substitution lines between Chinese Spring and Hope were used to locate the genes controlling heat tolerance in moderately heat resistant wheat cultivar.The results indicated that chromosomes 2A,3A,2B,3B and 4B of Hope can significantly increases heat tolerance,after substituting correspondent chromosome in Chinese Spring.The investigation of gene effect using hybrid between chromosome substitution lines and Chinese Spring and between chromosome substitution lines with different heat tolerance indicated that the gene(or genes) on Hope chromosome 2A exhibited dominant gene action,and the gene on chromosome 3A,2B.3B and 4B had additive gene action,there may exist gene interaction between genes on chromosome 3B and 4B,3A and 2A,3B and 2B,and between genes on these chromosome and the gene(or genes) on chromosome 2A.
