Abstract: In this study, the dynamic of yield of alfalfa, soil water and nutrient content in the product ion of alfalfa inShunyi region of Beijing were investigated. The results showed that the yield of alfalfa decreased with the sequence of thecuttings in a certain year, but decreased also because of the weather??s changes and the important and direct influence ofsoil moisture during the 4 years after sowing. Available N content in 0- 20 cm soil layer increase showed the ability of a-lfalfa to improve the soil N, but the effects would not assured if short time of alfalfa growing. Available P content in 0- 20cm soil layer decrease showed alfalfa planting could decrease the P in the soil, and the fertilizer of P was needed for thesoil of the long-term production of alfalfa.
