Abstract: Effects of NaCl on Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch seedlings was examined. The results showed that the shoot length, fresh mass and dry mass tended to decrease with the increasing of NaCl concentration. When NaCl concentration increased to 200 mmol/L,the chlorophyll contents and F-(V)/F-(m) decreased significantly. The relative membrane permeability,MDA,soluble sugars and proline contents increased significantly with salinity.POD and CAT activities increased, the SOD,CAT activities were tended to increase and then decreased with the increasing concentration. The results suggested that the maximum concentration of salt that Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch can tolerant was maybe between 100 and 200 mmol/L.
