Abstract: The experiment was carried out using M26 and SH40 to study the effect of iron-stress on the contents of O2- and MDA and the activity of SOD and POD in root of two rootstocks by the method of hydroponics. The result showed that contents of O2- in SH40 roots increased but contents of MDA decreased under iron stresss. The contents of O2- and MDA in the SH40 roots were higher than that in the M26 roots. The SOD activity increased firstly and decreased later and the POD activity increased in M26 roots with iron-stress time extended, but SOD activity dropped and POD activity increased firstly and decreased later in SH40 roots. The activity of SOD and POD in M26 roots were higher than that in SH40 roots.
