Occurrence and Control of Corn Crazy Top

Abstract: Corn crazy top is one of the new corn diseases occurring in corn production area of Hebei province. Most ears and tassels of the typical diseased corn plants grew abnormally and the leaves became thicker with obvious stripe protrusions. Identification showed that corn crazy top caused by Sclerophathora macrospora(Sacc.)Thirum et al, was one of corn downy mildew. Effective measures for control of this disease were also discussed.
