Studies on the Occurence,Damage,Spatial Distribution Pateerns and Control of Asian Corn Borer to Cotton

Abstract

Abstract: Severe damage of 1st generation and little of 2nd and 3rd generations of Asian corn borer(ACB)Ostrinia furnacalis Guenee to cotton in Henan cotton area.Wheat interplanted with cotton suffered more heavy damage when compared with different cropping systems associated with cotton.The spatial distribution pattern of ACB was studied using the methods of the discrete frequency distribution test and judging by indices of aggregation and so on.The results on the distribution patterns showed that egg masses of corn borer in wheat intercropping with cotton fields were of uniform patterns,the others were of aggregated patterns.According to the investigation results,the integrated management tactics and technical mesure, determined as taking agricultural mesures as the dominant factor.
