Abstract: In wheat puality improvement breeding, more attention should be paid to improving the content and quality of gluten than to improving the content of protein.By means of induced mutation,it is possible to obtain new varieties superior is both nutritional quality and processing quality such as Ji n mxi 23,Jinmai 22 and Yuaa 14,etc.Whether the fine characters of developed varieties can be fully displayed depends on the proper ecological conditions and the cultivation level. The key factor for the success in quality breeding by means of induced mutation lies is the test material and the selection of parents. The parents must possess 6ig6 protein genetic base and stable quality characters and can overcome the shortcoming of too simplified blood relationship and.the iatecfereace of unfavorable genes. As for the contradiction between yield and quality,it can be ceduced or compromised to a cerrain degree through proper combination of induced mutation and hybridization.
