Abstract: Two groups of sorghum parental lines ( 4 A-lines and 4 R-lines ), their 16 hybrids and F2s of two hybridized combinations were used as materials to study the genetic regularities .which included potentiality of embryo stem extension, the number of days of emergence and the rate of seedling emergence, and their interrelations were studied simultaneously. The results indicated that the potentiality of embryo stem extension and the number of days of seedling emergence have higher genetic ability, and the additive effect of gene system holds a dominant position; the potentiality of embryo stem extension is a decisive factor to the rate of seedlings emergence-, the number of days of emergence is negatively correlated, to a higher degree, with the potentiality of embryo stem extension.
