Abstract: Medicinal and food homologous plant active substances have the characteristics of multi-link, multi-level and multi-target, and their development provides a new idea for the development of food which can reduce the toxicity and increase the efficacy of uric acid lowering drugs and play the role of adjuvant therapy.Based on purine metabolism and uric acid production pathways, this paper summarized the treatment of hyperuricemia chemosynthetic drugs, extraction of plant-derived natural products and the construction of animal models of hyperuricemia. In order to inhibit urea synthesis, promote uric acid excretion, protect kidney and reduce inflammation, the regulation of uric acid metabolism by typical plant active substances from food and medicine was analyzed. Finally, the future development trend of medicinal and food homologous plant active substances was prospected.
