Abstract: To understand the genetic mechanisms of space-induced rice mutants' resistance to blast, T2, an indica rice mutant from Taihang 68, was researched in this study.Resistant spectrum, genetic analysis and gene mapping were applied in this study. It was found that T2 conferred broader resistance spectrum than most of main cultivars from Guangdong Province.By genetic analysis, the R gene was controlled by a single dominant gene, temporarily designed as PiTH gene, which was further mapped between T5 and K10 on chromosome 11 using SSR and InDel markers.PiTH might be a novel resistance gene in the Pik cluster, which conditioned differential reactions against many isolates and contained higher resistance.
