Abstract: To explore the effect of Sodium nitroprusside(SNP) on seeds germination of Kentucky bluegrass (KB),KB seeds were soaked with 0,0.O1,0.O5 , 0.10,0.50,1.00,1.50 mmol/L SNP for 4 , 6,8,10,12 h respectively , then seeds germination and the enzymes activities of POD and SOD were observed. The results showed that for KB seeds germination the best soaking time was 8 h,and the best SNP concentration is 0. OS mmol/L. With the increased of SNP concentration, seed germination showed increased then decreased after 0. OS mmol/L SNP. The enzymes activities of POD and SOD were the same as seed germination. Moreover very significant positive correlation was found between germination energy and the two enzymes activities whilst significantly negative correlation was found between average germination days and the two enzymes activities.
