Abstract: Using the technology of ion implantation, the Fe3+ions and Al3+ ions with different energy and dose were implanted to Salvia splendens var. alba seeds. By analysing the indexes including germination rate, mutation rate, plant height, crown width, verticillaster length and chlorophyll relative content, the influence of different ion implantation treatments about biological effect of Salvia splendens var. alba was discussed. The results revealed that the six treatments inhibited the germination rate of Salvia splendens var. alba seeds while caused forward mutation on the leaf colour. Although the crown width of Salvia splendens var. alba was not significantly affected by the six treatmenu, the plant height, verticillaster length and chlorophyll relative content were markedly affected. Among these treatments, the highest average minimum average plant height of treatment (70 keV-Fe3+-5×1015ions/cm2) was 15.85 cm,the verticillaster length and chlorophyll relative content of I treatment (70 keV Fe3+-1×1016 ions/cm2) were 8.78 cm and 45.19 respectively and 45. 19 respectively.
