Abstract: The study was carried out by using dry seeds as a treatment material and phosphor ion as an inducing source on Impatiens balsamena offspring. The results showed that the germinant rate, plantlet height of phosphor ion treat- ment were higher than control in vitro, and with dosage rising the germinant rate reduced, while the plantlet height in- creased; the differentiation rate and rooting rate of the treated material were lower than control in vitro; the P+ion treat- ment could induce Impatiens balsamena flowering in vitro, and the impregnation with 1× 1016ions/cm2was most benefi- cial to flower.

Key words: Ion implantation, Impatiens balsamina, Tissue culture, Flower formation in vitro
