Influence of Low Light on Net Photosynthesis Rate and Activities of Enzymes Related to Sucrose Metabolism in Cucumber Seedlings

Abstract: Using two genotypes of cucumbers low lightensitive 5404 line and low lightolerant S1 line as mate-rials we investigated their differences in the net photosynthetic rate (Pn) and sugar metabolism related enzymes activi-ties under low light condition. The result showed that Pn polysaccharide content acid invertase (SAI) activities neu-tral invertase (NI) activities sucrose phosphate synthase (SPS) activities and sucrose synthase(SS) activities of cu-cumber seedlings decreased.
