Abstract: In order to study effects of 1,4-dihydropyridine on milk yield, temperature and respiration of lactating dairy cows,twenty-fouth lactating dairy cows were divided randmonly into four gtroups to be fed with total mixed ration and with 0,100,150,200 mg /kg 1,4-dihydropyridine for twenty days, respectively. Feed and water were provided ad libitum. Results indicated that 100,150,200 mg /kg increased milk yield of dairy cows(17. 5%-28. 3% kg / d), but there were no difference among 0,100,150,200 mg /kg diets(P > 0. 05). Body temperature and respiration were no difference(P > 0. 05) when dairy cows were fed 100,150,200 mg /kg compared with 0 mg /kg 1,4-dihydropyridine diet. The respiration was declined when dairy cows fed 100,150,200 mg /kg 1,4-dihydropyridine diets.

Key words: 1,4-dihydropyridine, Dairy cow, Milk yield, Body temperature, Respiration
