Abstract: 42 different ecotype non??heading Chinese cabbage variet ies were selected to research the relat ion between the quality traits like crude fiber, Vc, soluble sugar, organic acid, amino acid, compositive flavor and mineral elements like N, P, K, Ca,Mg, S.The purpose was to discuss the feasibility of mensurating some simple index to screen the quality tar?? get and improve quality by fertilizering during breeding process. The canonical correlation and the dually screening and gradual regression were used to analyze the correlation between two group traits. The results indicated that the quality character significantly correlated with N,K, S in leaves. It was mainly caused by the correlation between crude fiber,Vc,NO3 and N, K, S andMn.N,K took directly positive effect to quality traits, but N did its work in appropriate extent, and K was perfectly quality factor??.The sulfur was negatively strongest factor to the composit ive flavor, which was possiblely because that sulfur content influenced the synthesization of flavor material.

Key words: Non??heading Chinese cabbage, Quality traits, Mineral elements, Compositive flavor
