Abstract: The spore germination rate, growth, sporulation and extracellular protease of Beauveria bassiana HFW 205were investigated with 14 carbon sources and 11 nitrogen sources in media without any carbon and nitrogen nutrition. The results showed that the best carbon source was sucrose in which sporulation(16.13×107conidia/cm2)and extracellularprotease(117.38μg/(min·mL))reached the highest. The bean cake was the best nitrogen nutrition in which the quantity of conidium(15.62×107conidia/cm2)and extracellular protease(74.01μg/(min·mL))were much higher than that of the contrast and inorganic salts. All the inorganic salts except nitre restrained spore germination and growth in experiment conditions. The sporulation and extracellular protease were both enhanced by adding 1% peptone into carbon media and 1% glucose into nitrogen media. There were relationships among sporulation and extracellular protease of B.bassiana.
