Abstract: To identify the responses to Chilling Stress in transplastomic tobacco with PuP5CS gene, sense and?antisense plant expression vector of PuP5CS gene were constructed and introduced into tobacco via Agrobacterium?tumefaciens. For the pBI121-PuP5CS + transgenic plants, the levels of soluble suger, proline, chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b were significantly higher than wild-type tobacco, the level of malondialdehyde(MDA)was significantly?lower than wild-type under the chilling stress, improved it's cold resistance. But for the pBI121-PuP5CS-transgenic?plants,the levels of them were not significant.?
