Abstract: In 1994,for the first time,H9N2 virus was isolated from diseased chickens in Guangdong Province, China. Since then, this subtype of influenza virus has been found in domestic poultry in other provinces in China. An?H9N2 virus, named as CK/AH/1/10,was isolated in Anhui Province,China. To evaluate the molecular characteristics of this H9N2 isolate, eight full-length genes of CK/AH/1/10 isolate were amplified by means of RT-PCR. The?products of RT-PCR were cloned into pMD-18 T vectors and sequenced. Sequence analysis indicated CK/AH/1/10?possessed few basic amino acids at the HA cleavage site and it was classified as low pathogenic avian influenza virus. According to Guan[4],CK/AH/1/10 could be classified in G9-like sublineage in the Eurasian lineage, based on?the characteristics of HA gene determined by phylogenetic analysis.
