Abstract: Effects of manure application amount on soil nitrate accumulation in soil profile, yield and quality of cabbage grown in summer seasons under conditions of shallow ground water table were studied. The precipitation during cabbage was grown following wheat was high and resulted in nitrate accumulation peak appeared near ground water table.More manure was applied, more nitrate-N accumulated in soil profile. The sugar content(Brix(%)) in cabbage decreased with the increase of manure application amount.Manure application amount did not influence Vc and crude fibrous content.Nitrate-N content in 0-20cM soil layer was not affected by manure application because of leaching. As a consequence, nitrate content in cabbage was similar among different treatments.
