Abstract: The tassels fertility of 120 inbred maize materials were identified and analyzed in the condition of high temperature from July to August,in Yuncheng. The result showed that in the condition of high temperature, there existed obvious difference among the tassels'fertility of these maize materials.Their sterility showed there were no pollen grains, anther could not be shedded, and anther couldn't shed pollen. The result of simulating European corn borer's damage (digging a hole in the nodes of tassels) indicated even if the maize plants could get enough water supply, water stress inside the tassels was one of the main factors affected the pollen grains to shed normally.
