Abstract: Phytophthora capsici can produce pathogentic toxin for host plant. It can cause pepper to induce a symptom which is similar to the one caused by the pathogen in the field. In this study, the crude toxin of Phytophthora capsici is used in the pepper seeds germinated and non-germinated.The result shows that the crude toxin has the negative effect on the germination rate of pepper seeds, the length of hypocotyls, taproots and the number of lateral roots.Under the same concentration of the crude toxin, the growth of lateral roots is more extremely inhibited than that of taproots.
