Abstract: The growth and development characteristichs were studied of 2 cauliflower cultivars at 7 sowing dates如field condition, and the effect of environment on curd initiation was discussed, also. Results are suggested that growth and development states of cauliflower are different from sowing dates, and there is a positive correlation between curd initiation days and maturity days. The visible leaves numbers can be used as a morphological marker at suitable sowing dates. The factors of influencing curd initiation are very complicated in unsuitable curd initiation condition, both high temperature and reducing light duration can inhibit or delay curd initiation.
