Abstract: The changes of free and conjugated polyamines level in tomato seedling treated with TMV were studied in this study. The results suggest that:(1) The polyamine levels in free and conjugated forms were different in TMV resistsnce and suseptible seedlings of tomato. The levels of free Put and Spd and the ratios of Spd/Spm were higher in resistant plants than in susceptible ones, relatively, the conjugated Put and Spd’s levels were lower than that of the free ones and they were higher in susceptible plants than in resistant plants.(2)The polyamine’s levels of free and conjugated forms were raised to different levels in seedlings after inoculated with TMV.The research results indicated that the increase in the level of free Spd and the increase in the ratio of free Spd/Spm were both beneficial to the promotion of the resistance to virus diseases .
