Abstract: A total of 62 species of weed from 22 families were identified through 2 year systematic investigation. The most important weeds were Eleine indica,Setaria viridis,Digitaria sanguinalis and Inula japouica and their frequency of occurrence were 100 0%,89 5%,79 0% and 68.4%,respectively.Field experiments were conducted over a 2 year period to determine the effects of herbicides on weeds. The results indicated that Londx and NC 311 at 4 gai/mu applied prior to turf emergence gave more than 85% control on E.indica,S.viridis,D.sanguinalis and other annual broad leave weeds 30 DAT(Days After Treatment). They had no unfavorable effect on the emergence and verdure of turf.Stomp at 50 mlai/mu,Alchlor at 90 mlai/mu and Prodiamine at 50 gai/mu applied on immature turf controlled annual grasses effectively 30 DAT and they did not significantly affect the turf quality.Fenoxaprop at 42 mlai/mu and Quinclorac at 40 gai/mu applied on immature turf for foliar treatment also provided effective control of annual grasses and they did not reduce the turf quality.
