Abstract: To provide the foundation for the research about the molecules, physiology and resistance of Kentucky bluegrass and its dwarf mutant by space mutagenesis, leaf blades were investigated and measured under electronic microscope and for morphological and anatomy characteristics. Results showed that the two dwarf mutant, which had wider and thinner leaf blades, all had more epidermal cells and smaller length-width ratio of up-epidermal cells compared to the control. The further correlation analysis showed that the increase of cell number and broadening of epidermal cells might be the reason of the wider leaf in the dwarf strains. In addition, the stoma size and distribution of the dwarf mutants also were different from the control.Compared to WT,the stoma density in dwarf plants was increased, but the stoma size was decreased, which was beneficial to the water transpiration diffusion. The study would provide a scientific basis for further research on the physiological and biological characteristic of these materials.
