Abstract: In six apple strains or stocks, including Orin, Jonagold, Nagafu 2, Akifu 1, M7 and M26, the peroxidase activity in the mature leaves of the virus-free seedlings were obviously decreased, compared with oh (viruliferous ones). The nitrate reductase activity in the mature leaves of virus-free Orin, Jonagold and Nagafu 2 was also remarkably higher than their oh. The contents of protein and amino acid in the mature leaves of the three strains were much lower, but in the browses and the shoot cortex were higher, and nitrite concentration in them was decreased. After virus-free treatment the browning degree of the tissues extraction of the three strains was notably decreased.
