Abstract: After the treatment of soybean seeds by chemical mutagens, the development and morphogenesis of M1generation were inhibited strongly. Morphological variation of M1was mainly induced by mutagens which made the plant physiological process into disorder. Among the characters of M2, the genetic variation coefficient of the number of branch, the height of main branch and the pods per plant were more evident. This indicated that there was potentiality for selection to these characters. Most characters of M3were still in separating. The new lines with early maturity, large seeds and other economic characters could be got in further selections.
