Abstract: With the pot experiments, effects of soaking seeds with succinic acid on growth and physiological characteristic of maize roots were stuied in this paper. The results showed that the applications of succinic acid improved the growth of root and enhanced the root activity of maize. The higher activity of SOD and the lower content of MDA were found when the concentration of succinic acid treated with 200-400 mg/L obviously, it was good for maize root to sharpen lipid peroxidation degree and raise the ability to resist disease at latter growing stage.
