Abstract: Field trial with fifteen maize hybrids was conducted by using near infrared reflectance at eight locations under different environmental conditions in Henan Province to study the effects of maize genotype and environment on two qualitative characters of maize grain. The result indicated that varieties, locations and varieties×locations were significant in two quality characters of maize grain, independent effect was stronger than interactive effect, and the effect of variety was stronger than that of environment. The protein content of four hybrids,HE-1,HE-2,Yudan101 and Yudan2002 was more than 11%,and the lysine content of them was more than 0.35%.The content of protein and lysine were higher significantly in Zhengzhou,Nanyang and Luoyang than that in the others.
