Abstract: RFLP clusters were made in selected rice elite lines including 36 cultivated and common wild rice. Also, comparison and classification were carried on among the three:molecular marker method, morphological character index method and cross-compatibility method. The results showed that the classification was basicly the same and that it is beneficial to understand and recognize the rice mate rial profoundly when arranging and classifying the rice material by three different ways.According to synthetic analysis of the RFLP clustermap,indica-japonica tendency map and genetype,it was clear that Chinese common wild rice could be classified into two types,i.e,the japonica-like type and the primitive type, and the common wild rice abroad into the indica-like type and the primitive type. The Chinese primi-tive wild rice was relatively japonica-inclining,while the primitive type abroad relatively indica-inclining.They were two types whose genetic differentiation was different remarkably.
