Abstract: The mechanism of promoting wheat growth and increasing yield with allatoin (All) was studied. The results showed that after the wheat seeds were treated with All, the vitality of wheat root system was improved, its ability to absorb mineral nutrients and water increased, the seedling tiller ability was enhanced, the percentage of earbearing tiller increased by 9.5%-12.7%, the activities of nitrate reductase and ATPase strengthened, while the hydrogen peroxidase activity reduced. So that the biological and biochemical processes were carried out well in wheat tissues, the leaf senility delayed, the chlorophyl 1 content increased, the leaf area enlarged, the photosynthesis intensity strengthened, and the dry matters were greatly accumulated in wheat tissues.

Key words: Allatoin, Winter wheat, Soaking seed, Vitality of root system, Enzyme activity, Accumulation of dry matters
