Abstract: Immunity is a physiological function of the body to maintain the health that can identify "self" and "non-self" components, thus destroy and exclude antigenic material into the body or the damaged cells produced by the body itself.Nutrients are the essential food ingredients ingested by the organism which can maintain normal life activities and immunity. The relationship between nutrition and immunity is closely related and becoming the hotspot for research. It is of great importance to reveal the effect and mechanism of nutrition on the immune function of animals for improving animal immunity, enhancing resistance to disease, resisting to infection and increasing performance. This article reviewed lack or adequate supply of specific nutritional elements, such as protein, vitamin (including vitamin A,E and C) and trace elements (including iron and zinc) on the regulation of immune functions and the possible mechanism. It aimed to explore the further relationship between nutrition and immunity, and then to provide theoretical basis for practical production.
