Abstract: The effect of the no-tillage mantle model of summer millet system on growth, yield and soil environment were studied from 2012 to 2013 year. The results showed that compared with those in conventional tillage, the yield of no-tillage summer millet increased by 7.90%,and the soil layer were higher, the water content of no-tillage in 0-150 cm depth soil were increased by 6.71%,especially in 0-40 cm depth soil the water content were increased by 13.40%.So that is showed that the water content in 0-40 cm soil in no-tillage treatment was significantly higher than in conventional tillage.Compared with conventional tillage,at jointing period, grain filling period and maturing period, the hydrolyzable nitrogen content of no-tillage in 0-40 cm depth soil were reduced by 34.22%,31.78%,40.77%;the available phosphorus content of no-tillage were increased by 34.22%,31.78%,40.77%;the available potassium content of no-tillage were reduced by 12.90%,9.53%,6.12%;the organic matter content of no-tillage were increased by 3.26%,4.98%,6.16%.The NO3--N content in 0-100 cm depth soil of no-tillage at jointing period and maturing period were increased by 55.15%,70.33%,but at grain filling period was reduced by 22.82%.
