Abstract: The objective of this field split plot experiment was to study the effects of three green manure cultivars(February orchid,Ryegrass and Triticale)with two seeding methods(Broadcast sowing and Drilling) on aboveground biomass, nutrients amount of growing stock, soil nutrients and quality and yield of sequent peanut, and to provide a scientific basis for the extension of planting green manure in winter fallow farmlands of North China. The green manure cultivars results showed that the aboveground biomass and nutrient amount of growing stock of Ryegrass were significantly higher than that of February orchid and Triticale. After being ploughed back, the alkaline N content in soil by the application of Triticale was significantly lower than that of Ryegrass and February orchid. The SOM by the application of Ryegrass was distinctly higher than that of Triticale, but the available P content in soil was markedly lower than February orchid. The pod yield by the application of Triticale was significantly lower than that of Ryegrass and February orchid. And the protein content(23.13%) and the fat content(52.72%) in peanut grain by the application of Ryegrass were higher than those of February orchid and Triticale. The green manure sowing methods results showed that the aboveground biomass and nutrient amount of growing stock of green manure of drilling treatment were higher than those of broadcast seeding. The aboveground biomass and the N nutrient accumulating amount of Triticale with drilling were notably higher than those of broadcast seeding, and the P and K nutrients accumulating amount of Triticale with drilling were very significantly higher than those of broadcast seeding. And the aboveground biomass and the N,P,K nutrients accumulating amounts of Ryegrass with drilling were all very significantly higher than those of broadcast seeding. The alkaline N content and the available P content in soil by the application of February orchid with drilling were notably higher and very significantly higher than those of broadcast seeding, respectively. And the contents of alkaline N,available P and available K in soil by the application of Ryegrass with drilling were very significantly higher than those of broadcast seeding.Analysis by synthesis showed that Ryegrass and February orchid were the suitable cultivars in winter fallow farmlands of North China, and the suitable seeding method was drilling.
