Selenium Absorption and Accumulation Characteristics of Winter Wheat and Effects of Foliar Spray of Selenium

Abstract: The selenium uptake and accumulation characteristics of winter wheat were studied by means of pot experiment,field testing and laboratory analysis. On this basis,the different concentrations of foliar spray of selenium test were carried out at wheat heading stage,early filling stage and mid-grouting stage. The results showed that the absorption amount and absorption rate of selenium were the largest from wheat heading stage to filling stage. The selenium content of wheat grain could be improved significantly by foliar spray of selenium(0-100 mgSe /L) from heading stage to mid-grouting stage. The effects of foliar spray of selenium was the best at early filling stage,followed by heading stage,then the mid-grouting stage. Therefore,we recommend that foliar spray of selenium concentration 40 mg /L was appropriate from wheat heading stage to early filling stage,with the fluid volume of 750 kg /ha.
