Abstract: Effects of Bacillus subtilis (B. S) on dehydrogenase activity, polyphenoloxidase activity, catalase activity, peroxidase activity, urease activity and alkaline phosphatase activity of cucumber under salt-stress was studied through substrate culture. The results showed that under no salt stress,Bacillus subtilis increased dehydrogenase activity, urease activity and alkaline phosphatase activity, significantly increased polyphenoloxidase activity and catalase activity in the rhizosphere. Under lower-concentration salt stress,(i.e. double of normal nutrient solution level),Bacillus subtilis increased dehydrogenase activity and peroxidase activity, significantly increased catalase activity, urease activity and alkaline phosphatase activity in the rhizosphere. Under higher-concentration salt stress,(i. e. four times of normal nutrient solution level),compared to no B. S treatment,Bacillus subtilis had no significant influence on rhizosphere enzyme.
