Abstract: The haematological cortisol and biochemical profiles of a freshwater fish Alosa sapidassima in 1 year oldwere studied under the stress provoked by which were transferred into smaller containers. The results showed that erythro-cyte number(RBC; P<0. 01),hanoglobin(Hb; P<0. 01),hematocrit value(HGT; P<0. 05) were significantly de-creased and erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR), erythrocyte osmotic fragility(EOF) were signfficantly increased afterstress compared with the cxntrol of deep anesthesia( P<0. 01).Sermn cortisol increased 48 times than control. Biochemcal parameters were also determined and it has been observed that serum total protein, globulin protein( P< 0. 01)and al-1)in ( P<0. 05) were signffi cantly decreased and cis-cypermethrin(GPT)and trans-cypermethrin(GOT),alkaline phos-phatase( ALP)(P<0. 01),acid phosphatases ( ACP),lactate drogenase( LDH),cholinesterase( CHE),glucosetriglyceride( TG)(P<0. 05) were signfficantly increased than the control. However, blood uric acid and urea nitrogenwere not significantly different from the control( P> 0. 05).In the light of our findings, it could he stated that stress leadto dramatic changes haematological and the increase of cortisol enhanced the content of glucose and LDH, so, Americanshad appeared the oxygen deficiency and stressful hemorrhage.
