Discussion on Sweetpotato Breeding Technology of High Photosynthetic Efficiency

Abstract: This paper discusses the technology of high photosynthetic efficiency breeding on sweetpotato by compre??hensive analyzing the sweetpotato varieties of the high photosynthet ic efficiency type in recent years.The results showed that: sweetpotato breeding for improving the efficiency of photosynthesis is necessary and feasible, and the breeding objective is that the qualitative character should be the main quality and the planting density should be reduced in the early selection of the filial generation and make its clones develop well, have the less competition between the plants and between the rows.The sweetpotato variety of the high photosynthet ic efficiency should have the improved characters that the short multi??branches, the half??erect plant types, the higher economic coeff icient, and high quality, disease??resistant, early??ripe,as well as. It will be accepted easily by firms and farmers because of the character of the more potential for increasing production and realizing the mechanize harvest.We should increase the breeding and the development of the high photosyn?? thetic efficiency type in the next.
