Abstract: In this research, the literatures were reviewed about the insect-resistant breeding in domestic and foreign research, mainly containing the advances of genetic positioning, gene cloning of brown planthopper,white-backed planthopper, and small brown rice planthopper in wild rice resources, conventional breeding, molecular marker assisted breeding of single resistant gene, and multiple resistance genes pyramiding breeding in practice. The problems were also discussed and some suggestions were proposed during the course of rice genetic breeding utilized with wild rice resources.
