The Advances in Research of the Transgenic Plants with Safe or No Selection Markers

Abstract

Abstract: The safety of the transgenic plants would be ascribed to the selection marker genes present in their genomes to a great extent. Two strategies including utilization of the safe marker genes and marker??free techniques are usually exploited for the production of the transgenic plants. In this paper, the advances in the recent research of the utilizat ion of the safe marker genes and marker??free techniques were reviewed and the possible applications of these techniques were also discussed.
