Abstract: A study on SRAP molecular markers for nuclear male sterile genes in sugarbeet was carried out, using male sterile plants and fertile plants with similar genetic background. Results: two pairs of SRAP primers, namely M2E7 and M8E8, produced stable differential PCR bands with frequency of 73% and 76% respectively, which are related to fertility gene. Conclution: this SRAP technque could be used in sugarbeet breeding, genetic diversity studies and research on genes related to fertility in sugarbeet.

Key words: Sugar beet, Nuclear male sterility, SRAP markers
