Abstract: Rice seedlings of the varieties transferred BADH gene 52-7 and 51-15 were potted in plastic basins to study their anti-drought ability, when they grew to 5 leaves, they were intimidated in drought, and then some physiological and biological changes of them were tested. The rice seedlings of BADH gene receiver Zhonghua 8 and dry planting variety Kaixi 7 and the variety of land rice Baizhenzhu were regarded as contrasts. The result showed that the membrane permeability of rice seedlings increased under drought stress, the contents of MDA and amino acid, soluble sugar and free proline increased as well as the activity of POD, while the content of soluble proteins decreased. But the membrane permeability of 52-7 and 51-15 was smaller than that of the other's, and the accumulation of MDA decreased, the change extents of protein and amino acid contents were smaller, the increasing extents of soluble sugar and free proline were bigger, the activities of POD and SOD were higher than those of the other's. There were the same POD isozyme chart among 52-7, 51-15 and Zhonghua 8, but they had some differences with Kaixi 7 and Baizhenzhu. Zhonghua 8 was induced to synthesize 3 kinds of POD isozymes by the treatment of drought stress, it had the same POD isozyme chart with Kaixi 7 and Baizhenzhu' accordingly, the other varieties had no changes for POD isozymes under drought stress. 52-7 and 51-15 had better traits of drought resistance than the other varieties.
