Abstract: The relative electric conductivity and relative leakage of K+ of leaves of Chinese Spring (CS)-Synthetic 6x substitution lines and parents cultivars Chinese Spring (recipient) and Synthetic 6x (donor) were measured to determine the chromosomal locations of genes controlling membrane stability under drought condition. The results indicated that the relative electric conductivity and relative leakage of K+ of leaves of 1D, 2D, 2B, 3A, 3D, 4A, 4B, 6A, 6B, 7D and 7A chromosome substitutions were significant difference from Chinese Spring at 0.05 or 0.01 level. It was concluded that chromosomes 1D, 2D, 2B, 3A, 3D, 4A, 4B, 6A, 6B, 7D and 7A were associated with drought tolerance of Synthetic 6x, while the others were not related to drought tolerance. The results could provide the references for the genetic research concerned with drought resistance.
