Abstract: Seven kinds of sorghum(Sorghum bicolor L.Moench) cytoplasmic-male sterility(CMS) have been identified by far,i.e.A1,A2,A3,A4,A5,A6 and 9E.The mechanic studies ofcMS was mainly centered on A1(milo).A2/B2V4 was used in our program to study the chromosomal meiotic behaviors during pollen mother cell development in A2cMS.The results demonstrated that the abnormal chromosomal behaviors occurred in A2cMS meiosis starting from anaPHASeⅠ;Homologous chromosomes delayed to move to opposite poles at anaPHASeⅠ or sister chromosomes didn't divide at anaPHASeⅡ;Chromosomes multipolidized;Unequal chromosomal separation;Several nuclei or nucleoli in one cell;etc. All of the abnormal behaviors lead to the failed microspores development.
