Abstract: This study, focus on the changes of physiological characters and grain protein content of different genotypes of winter wheat under the bed-planting (BP) system. Compared with the conventional flat planting (CFP) system, the bed-planting system increased the content of free amino acid in flag leaf and grains at early grain filling period, improved the NR activity in flag leaf during later grain filling period, and increased the grain protein content of some kind of wheat.Distinct differences were found among the three different genotypes, the grain protein content of Gaomai 8901(High gluten wheat)and Zhengmai 975(Medium gluten)can be increased significantly, but not to the weak gluten cultivar yumai50,this might be related to the different changes of the content of free amino acid in grains at later grain filling period.
