Abstract: T he effects of Verticillium dahliae toxin on POD, PALand PPO activities on the leaf from dif-ferent eggplant cultivars. The activities of POD, PALand PPO both resistant and susceptible cultivars were higher than that of the control. As the treat time expanding, both of them increased rapidly at the beginning then decreased:the activity of POD was increasing within 0-24 h then decreasing, and the activities of PPO and PALwas increasing within 0-36 h then decreasing gradually after treatment. As the toxin concentration of in-creasing, the activities of POD, PALand PPO increased rapidly at the beginning then decreased as well. There were a sig-nificant positive correlation between enzyme activities and disease resistance of eggplant cultivars.
