Abstract: VA,a natured virus inhibitor from several kinds of plants, was used as a elicitor. On the seventh day after treatment with VA,the newly developed leaves of Nicotiana tabacum L.SamSunNN and SamSun were inoculated with TMV.Result showed that localized and systemic resistance to TMV were induced in Nicotiana tabacum L.by VA.Local lesion inhibition rate was 40%-60%.Lical lesion diameter inhibition rate was 30%-50%.From 48 h to 72 h after treated with VA+TMV in SamSun NN tabacco plants,PR proteins were weaker in the TMV noninfected SamSun NN;Moreover,in SamSun tabacco plants,VA could not induce PR proteins with inoculation or noinoculation treatment. It indicated that VA could inhibite infection and replication of TMV.
