Abstract: :The relationship between sinks, sources, sink-source ratio per stem and yield were studied using 10 different wheat varieties. The results showed that there were no significant correlations between sink characters, source characters and yield. There were positive correlations between sink/source ratio per stem and yield. The phenoty pic and genetic correlations between grain number per spike/flag leaf area, spike grain weight/flag leaf area, and yield were significant at 1% level, which showed no negative effects on yield components. This indicates that the yield components can be harmonized at high yield levels. These results can serve as criterias for high-yield wheat breeding.
