Abstract: Genotype factors influencing shoot regeneration from cotyledonary explants of Chinese cabbage were identified in this study. When 123 cultivars of Brassica pekinensis and 20 cultivars of Brassica chinensis were screened,a large variation in shoot regeneration frequency was observed, ranging from 0~97.5%.17 Brassica pekinensis cultivars and 5 Brassica chinensis cultivars showed regeneration frequency higher than 80%.Shoot regeneration frequency was not related to origin, types and days to maturity of the cultivars.

Key words: Brassica pekinensis, Brassica chinensis, Genotype, Cotyledon culture
